Whilst working on my Secret Safe project I was looking at various types of encryption and began attempting to create my own visual encryption method.

Influenced by visualisations of human DNA, I aimed to be able to create a DNA-esque image which was generated through the input of a piece of information specific to its creator. In my examples I created imagery based on my own personal details; NI Number, Bank Account details, Phone Numbers etc.

Part of the Secret Safe project was that with the advances in computer based methods of encryption, we just accept that the inforatmion is being encrypted without any real understanding of how this is being done. DNA{gen} factors a number of random variables into the image generation process which essentially means that it is a one way encryption - there is no way in which it can be decrypted.
